  14. release both that mag, and  their  old
  15. chart-mag Showtime.»CL1:  Apart  from  this
  16. being  rather  ambitious,  there  were
  17. also  some   changes   announced   for
  18. Showtime. The new main  editor will be
  19. Modem of Darkage,  who  has previously
  20. been main editor, but  left the  group

  28. after a  dispute,  and  then  recently
  29. rejoined again. You can see quite some
  30. signs of this 'dispute' in  St#16, but
  31. it  looks  like Darkage  is shaping up
  32. again  now,  and   that   some   heavy
  33. internal   discussion   has   produced
  34. results. »CL7:Modem rejoined,  and Zito and
  35. Stingray are quiet on this  matter. As
  36. we understood it,  Modem  is  now  the
  37. organizer of the Italian branch of the
  38. group, while Ghandy  is  organizer  of
  39. the rest.»CL1:  We  here  at  EC  hope that
  40. everything has turned out well for all
  41. Darkage members.

  43. Curious to  know  how  Showtime #17 is
  44. shaping up, and what  the  deal behind
  45. the two mags were, »CL8:I asked  Modem some

  47. paste here, because I  am way too lazy
  48. to  rewrite  what  he  said..»CL1: Ehrr.. I
  49. mean, for  the sake of clarity.. Yes..

  53. So,  let  us  see...  Some questions..
  54. First off, why did Ghandy want to do a
  55. (semi) new mag, instead of just having
  56. ST as a combined mag/chart?

  59. wanted to keep the "old" code (it  was
  60. improved by Stingray/Darkage),  but he
  61. had problems with Gods, so he  started
  62. looking for  a  new  mag  code. »CL7:At the

  64. had  MrTickle/Darkage  with a magazine
  65. engine ready  without a mag.»CL1:  The  two

  70. was the first file I downloaded when I

  99. news, but  still  publishing   a   few
  100. articles. JP  will  become  the "real"
  101. mag :) I think  issue #17  will be out
  102. sometime  in  January,  I  planned  to
  103. release it   at TP first,  but   I  am
  104. introducing  some  news  that  require
  105. more time :) The code  will remain the
  106. same. Yes, many  consider it outdated,
  107. but I like its fashion :) It is  a bit
  108. "demode'",  but  I  love  it for  this
  109. reason :) »CL8:Those who complain about the
  110. AGA-only  compatibility  can  download
  111. UAE  and  use  ST on it, it runs  very
  112. fast, also on an Amiga :)"»CL1:

  121. Lastly,   have   you   had     trouble
  122. collecting   votes  for it?  How  many
  123. votes do  you think  is  necessary  to
  124. release a reliable chart?

  130. Here  I   ran   out    of    immediate
  131. questions for  Modem,  but  I  have to
  132. say, he answered  very fast, and well,
  133. he is  certainly optimistic  about the
  134. amount of votes they can collect until
  135. January.  In  fact,  I would  like  to
  136. propose a  bet  to the ST team: If you
  137. manage to get  100 votes collected  in
  138. January (2002), I  will.. Ehh.. Eat my
  139. hat? No.. Give the  team one free beer
  140. each, at Mekka Symposium? Yes, that is
  141. more likely. But if they do not manage
  142. this, each team member  has to give ME
  143. one  beer  at MS.. Is  that not  an ok
  144. bet? Please accept it, I will be happy
  145. whether I win or loose..

  148. that Showtime can get such a number of
  149. votes, especially  in such short time.
  150. It takes us around 3-4 months  to  get
  151. enough votes.»CL1: Granted, it  is  because
  152. we let people vote of their own accord
  153. for  the  first 2-3  months, and then,
  154. when we have the  10-20  votes  people
  155. send freely, we  spend each and  every
  156. day on the IRC ++, to force  people to
  157. vote. Ehrr, I would be very  surprised
  158. if  Showtime  was  to  have  an  equal
  159. amount of voters on such short notice,
  160. but  it  would be a good thing if they
  161. did, so from  here,  I will  close  by
  162. telling  you  all to vote for Showtime
